WHAT IS LABRADORITE?
Labradorite is a crystalline form of Feldspar, often gray in composition but known for its “flash” or “flame” when it catches the light. When polished, dark gray Labradorite flashes with colors deep within, including blue, green and gold.

Labradorite occurs in mafic igneous rocks and is the feldspar variety most common in basalt and gabbro.
HISTORY OF LABRADORITE
Labradorite, also called spectrolite or labrodite, among many other names, is a type of feldspar that was officially found by Moravian missionaries in Labrador in Canada in 1770. It is also found in Newfoundland, Madagascar, India, Russia, Mexico and Finland, among several other nations.
